FoN’s Overview
The Faculty of Nursing,Khon Kaen University was founded in 1971.It was established as the fourth among several faculties in the university. The Faculty of Nursing is recognized as the first Faculty of Nursing in Thailand.It has been ranked one of the top five nursing schools in the country for more than three decades.The Faculty of Nursing aims to be one of the top five of ASEAN,and one of top 50 of Asia by the year 2020.The Faculty of Nursing employs effective strategies to build international networks and strengthen academic collaboration in promoting global health.Students in all degree programs will be provided with learning experiences in quality of nursing services,cultural diversity,variety of client’ health care context, social lives, and the historic city of Khon Kaen. From its inception, the faculty of Nursing,Khon Kaen University has had clear and definite goals,which are in alignment with those of Khon Kaen University, as listed below:
An institute that produces graduates at different levels in the area of nursing with a standard of quality demanded by global society.
The center of professional education at all levels in the northeastern region of Thailand, in the countries who are members of the Greater Mekong Sub region, and in ASEAN countries.
A network of research contributing to development of nursing knowledge and innovation in response to the health care needs of individuals, families, and communities at the local, regional, national, and international levels.
The center of knowledge utilization in developing policies, problem solving models in health, health care models for specific groups of population and health issues in Thailand and global society.
